For Parents and Carers
At St Paul’s C E Primary, our curriculum intent is rooted in our vision: we protect, trust, hope, persevere and flourish.
We believe that education is a journey that empowers our students to become lifelong learners and active contributors to society.
Our broad and balanced curriculum, inspired by the 2014 National Curriculum in England, aims to provide our students with excellent academic foundations whilst nurturing their personal and social development. We embrace the diversity of our learners and strive to create an inclusive environment where all children can thrive.
We recognise that each child is unique, with their own strengths, interests, and ambitions. Therefore, our curriculum is designed to be inspiring, flexible, relatable and responsive to the changing needs of our students. We carefully map out learning opportunities across the school, ensuring a coherent progression of knowledge, skills and understanding in each subject area.
We believe that learning should be an enjoyable and meaningful experience, engaging students in relevant, real-world contexts. Our curriculum is enriched with a range of experiences, such as educational visits, visitors, and extra-curricular activities, which deepen learning and foster curiosity. We also focus on the development of key life-skills, such as critical thinking, emotional literacy, teamwork and effective communication, which are essential for success in today’s world.
To ensure our curriculum is effective, we continually evaluate and refine our teaching strategies and resources.
At St Paul’s, we foster a culture of professional development amongst our dedicated staff; who facilitate high-quality teaching and learning that is engaging and challenging. By fostering a love for learning and promoting a growth mindset, we aim to equip our pupils with the resilience and confidence needed to overcome obstacles and achieve their full potential.
Our curriculum is underpinned by our commitment to igniting a passion for learning within our students; enabling them to flourish academically, socially, and emotionally. Empowering our pupils to become successful, responsible citizens of the future is at the heart of our practice
