Art and Design
Through our inspiring art curriculum at St Paul’s, we aim to develop a love and appreciation for art and creativity. By providing opportunities to experience a wide range of media, and equipping the children will the skills they need to be artists, we hope to nurture their abilities and provide them with the opportunities they need to experiment and invent and the courage and freedom to interpret and develop their own ideas.
We share with the children inspiring and intriguing artworks from great artists, craft-makers and designers both past and present to foster an understanding of how art and design reflects and shapes our history and contributes to the culture and creativity of our society, both locally and in the wider world.
Our art curriculum is progressive, inclusive, and has clear links to other subjects, enabling pupils to make connections and develop a deeper understanding of the world through art.
At St. Paul’s, we value imagination and creativity and understand the importance art plays in the development of an individual’s personal expression and sense of self and we aim to nurture these skills in our children to enable them to flourish on life’s great adventure.
