Languages

At St Paul's we intend for our children to leave primary school with the confidence for speaking, understanding, reading and writing in a foreign language.

We build children’s understanding and respect for other cultures, traditions and language, as well as improving their use of essential skills of reading and writing in another language, regardless of any barriers.

We intend to inspire pupils to develop a love and thirst of languages and to expand their horizons to other countries, cultures and people.

Through our French curriculum, we strive to nurture pupils who are confident and enthusiastic about their ability to speak, listen, read, and write in French, while also understanding the importance of intercultural understanding, empathy, and respect.
